Wordless Wednesday? Sorry, I just couldn't shut up!

I know I have been fooling around with wordless Wednesday the last few weeks, but today I just had to share! Most of you know I work at home with AmeriPlan selling affordable dental and health plans. I am always sharing why I think they are a great company. Well, here's another reason why:

Holy Guacamole! Where has the time gone?


I cannot believe it has been 2 months since I last wrote. AmeriPlan® has been popping promotions like crazy! We had our $20 promotion a few months back, and now we are having a $25.oo promotion! So, because of all this excitement going on at A.P., I have been actively working with some new brokers as well as still recruiting for other serious business-minded people. I have also been enrolling members, as there are just as many people seeking health benefits as there are seeking work at home.


We have also been going through some issues with my daughters health. She has symptoms that sounds like juvenile arthritis or something. She has pain in her right hip and ankle quite often, and she cannot grip or squeeze with her hands- she has like no strength in her hands. We went to the doctors 3x's in one week, and now she has to go to a rheumatologist. The poor doctor- I call her like once a week. We needed a note so my daughter didn't have to go to gym. We need a note now so she can use the elevator in school.


I have also been a little distracted lately by the grand-baby. Several times a week my step-son stops by with the baby. I will admit I'm distractable, but he is just too,too cute. I have to stop working for an hour or so and play with him. He has such a great personality! Check out his picture! I'm so happy I am here so I can see him- time goes by so fast.


I have been doing quite a bit of research on social networking. I am trying out different sites such as myspace,tagged.com, etc...I am hoping to do a training call on the subject for our team soon.


Speaking of training, I have an online journal writing class- right now, I have 2 students. PLUS, I have a class starting at an adult learning center this week. So....busy, busy, busy! Gotta go!

While things are exciting, it is at the same time sad...


Yesterday my sheltie, Thunder died unexpectedly. We are not sure what happened. I arrived home from getting my daughter from an event. My daughter's gears on her bike weren't working correctly. I was riding it around trying to switch the gears. Thunder and Rocky were chasing me around like normal. A few minutes later, we came in and I gave them each a few bites of a piece of sausage that was left over. I then went out to feed our goats and chickens. Suddenly, my daughter yells out that I must come NOW- Thunder was laying in the hallway almost unresponsive!
I ran over and picked him up. I looked in his mouth and didn't see anything, I tried to pat him on the back, etc... in case he was choking. He died with in a minute or so. He hadn't acted like he was choking. The weather was pleasant, not hot, and they had water available. We are absolutely shocked and mystified!
Thunder was a rescue dog, and was petrified of Ron for a long, long time. It was just over two years ago that we got Thunder, and he was really just starting to like Ron the last 6 months or so! And now this, just as he was really settling down!
And what does Thunder dying have to do with my business? Not much except I will miss our morning walks before I settle down to work for the day. I will miss Thunder sleeping at my feet as I work in my office. I will even miss him barking in the background as I'm talking to prospects. There was no doubt in anyone's mind that I worked at home when Thunder got on a barking spree!
And so, I just wanted to say good-bye to Thunder- you will be missed! There is truly no other dog out there that could replace you!

Convention 2008- Dallas, Tx


Last weekend Ron and I went to Dallas, Texas for an AmeriPlan convention. All I can say is WOW! We met people that have been with the company from the beginning-which was 16 years ago! To hear the stories of how far the company has come in that short time and to see all the successful people! WOW!

People that had been with the company only 2-3 years were getting awards for making $100,000+/yr in lifetime residual income! They could take 6 month's off and still have that money flowing in! There were people that had been there anywhere from 4 - 16 years inducted into the millionaires club!

We met people from all walks of life. There were former doctors, bus drivers, single mothers,former computer geeks, former McDonald's employees, teachers, preachers, you name it! AmeriPlan can help anyone achieve their hopes and dreams for a better life!

But what was more important was the heart of everyone there. There were so many tears shed. Because for these people, it is about helping others. When we are able see a team member achieve a goal they have set, (whether it is buying a new car, a house, paying off debt, quitting their J-O-B, etc...), WE CHEER, TOO! And when you have brought that person aboard and helped them along the way, you feel like a million bucks. It just happens that after helping many people, you're making a million bucks! :)

These people that make $100,000, $200,000 and more treated everyone the same. You could be hanging in the hallway and strike up a converstaion with someone. They are very nice, ask how you like the convention, etc...Two hours later, they are collecting an award for making $350,000/yr! They are so humble.

I was also so impessed that the company owners, Dennis and Daniel Bloom were there, mingling and talking to people. We had Motown on Friday night, and Denis and Daniel came all "pimped out" and danced and such! I missed most of that! I had someone who wanted to sign up for health benefits, and I was having technical difficulties up in my room with my laptop. I had to wait for the hotel's IT dept. to come.

I had been to a team event in February and met many people on the Freedom at Home Team, but not all. My National Sales Dirctor as well as another Regional Sales Director I had become friends with (via the telephone) were unable to make that event. This time, they were there! It's weird, but it is like going to a HUGE family reunion.

I thank God that I found this home business! It has enabled me to quit my job and be home- just in time! Our grandson was born just before my end date. Now, when he and Daddy drop by, I can see them! I am also here everyday when my kids get home from school.

I am so happy that Ron went with me. He has been in the "background" looking on with this biz. I think he really thought it was a scam at first. He has been coming around- seeing checks helps ;) but what really did it was the convention. He saw with his eyes ALOT of successful people. I think he has always believed he wasn't meant for success. He grew up with 7 brothers- his Dad left when he was a baby and his mom had to go it alone. 7 out of 8 boys graduated high school and have pretty good jobs. Ron is a diesel mechanic- the very best in our area. He makes pretty good money, as do the other 6 brother's.

But when it comes down to it, you never get anywhere working for someone else. After working 40+ hours a week for 40+ years, what have you got to show for it? I believe AmeriPlan showed Ron there is a better way!

We're in Dallas for A.P. convention

Ron & I arrived in Dallas yesterday for an AmeriPlan convention! We are having a great time- learning soooo much! Tonight, they have motown! We are going to party it up with our new friends!

It is so great seeing and talking to other AmeriPlan IBO's who are making $100,000 or MORE in annual residual income. The great thing is, they are just people. Before AmeriPlan, they woke up everyday and went to work. They had bills they could barely pay. With persistance and hard work, they don't have those problems anymore! I met the leader of the Freedom at Home Team, Janie Jones. She is great!

One speaker had a theory that really makes you think! He claims that an alarm clock is bad for your heart. You're sleeping comfortably and suddenly, the alarm clock screeches at you! Bad for the heart. He had us cracking up! But it made sense, too the way he explained it.

Anyway, I have to call a few people, go to dinner, and get ready to get down and dirty with motown! Later!

My outdoor office

Wow! I'm sitting outside in what I call my "outdoor office". It's a spot I've been working on for the 9 years we have lived here. Before we built here, there was all woods. It had been farm land years earlier. In the first years, we were pulling out trees and stumps with Ron's van! Ron finally got every man's dream, a tractor! Our yard was also loaded with boulders and rocks. We have changed our landscaping with rocks and flowers numerous times over the years.

Last year, I decided I wanted an "outdoor office"-somewhere to go and hang outside and work. I got wireless Internet on my laptop, and it's been a work in progress since. When you enter the area, there is an archway made from branches- it's pretty cool! I will try to get a good pic of it later. You go through that onto a pathway that has plants on either side. The path was a work in progress. I was working on a flat rock walkway, but honestly, we didn't have enough rocks that were flat, or enough time!

Along the left side of the walkway was a wall made of branches. Every now & then it needed some maintenance, but not much. It was very cool there on a hot day. A few years back, there was a hurricane down south. We had bad, bad winds. My wood wall & everything held strong! The next little wind we had, it blew down. I was having my surgery that summer and never fixed it. So now it's just flowers!

The pic is of the "main" garden area-there are 4 areas here in my office that have flowers. My space is pretty much still woods. We've taken a lot of the trees out, so there's some sun. To tell the truth, 1/2 of those flowers are fake- I mixed real and fake- alot cheaper, less time gardening, and I'll always have some color! It fooled my neighbor! She commented on my beautiful flowers! I add more to it every day or so.

That lattice work in the background will probably come out any day. On the other side of it is a small pond we put in, more flower beds, etc... I think I want to incorporate them together. Of couse, we had originally planned on building an "adult tree fort/office" overlooking the pond. It's still an option down the road!

Anyway, I'm just rambling on! It is 88 degrees out but here sitting in my outdoor office, it's quite a bit cooler. The mosquitos are an issue. I have on bug stuff/sunblock on. The bugs aren't getting on me, but they are flying about an inch away! Anyhoo- I am just amazed that I can sit here and run ads on the Internet, answer emails, and talk to people and I'm outside. I love working at home! In fact, I took the pics AND downloaded them while out here! You just got to love it. Although modern technology scares me, I am hooked! We had a thunder and lightening storm last night. When I woke up, my Internet didn't work! I swear my heart was in my throat! After 1/2 hour of boo-hooing, I remembered that sometimes after a storm, if I unplug the cable box for a minute or two, it resets itself and all's cool. It worked! Whew....

And now, time for a 1/2 hr relaxation before my daughter gets home!

People are soooo funny!

Friday night, some friends we haven't seen in about 6 mos. stop by. I told my daughter to get them a frisbee. The one said he wishes he knew about these dental benefits sooner-he just had an abcessed tooth and spent hundreds of dollars on dental work. After we had been talking a while, I happened to remember something. Last time we were at their house, I gave them a magnet that was about the benefits, with my phone number and website. I asked him, "didn't I give you a magnet before?" He looks dumbfounded for a sec, then says, " I think you did. It's on the side of the fridge-I forgot all about it! You can tell he doesn't wipe off the fridge much. Ha-ha! Anyway, the GF is supposed to call me tonight to sign him up for benefits!

Yesterday, we went to a friends so Ron could help with the guys truck. I of course gave them a frisbee for their dog! :) After that we went to a garage sale and picked up some toys for "Little Man", our Grandson. He is a few days shy of 7 months and just a cutie. We really didn't have any interesting toys, and we were babysitting last night. After Little man got there, we took him to a couple of Ron's friends from his hometown that we hang with. They never saw the baby. The baby slept through the first visit, but was up and kicking after!

Now that I work at home we can get the baby during the day and go to the park or bike riding (have to get a baby seat.)

Tomorrow, Ron goes on nights for a few weeks. That means getting used to a whole new routine. Once we get used to that, he'll go back on days. I made up a quote about that years ago "Life is just one big routine. Just as you get used to it, it changes!"

Anyway, I have to go run some ads!

Almost June!


June is almost here! I can't wait! On June 26-29, Ron & I will be in Dallas, Tx for a company convention. This is a big step for Ron. He is finally coming around (after a year!) and is even giving my frisbees and stuff to people! He doesn't like to dress up, and he will have to the majority of the time there, but I think he will have a great time. There's nothing like meeting successful people in the company and learning from them! We have to leave at 6:14 a.m., but the hotel had no rooms left for the night before, and I want to catch the workshops on Thursday, so we're heading out early! I will miss one or two, but any other flight would have gotten me to Dallas after all the workshops. We are parking my car in the airport garage. Hopefully, I'll get some calls from the advertising on the back!


June also marks the beginning of another school vacation. This is my first summer working at home. I really look forward to going to parks and beaches with my daughter, having fun and of course, leaving literature or frisbees behind! I may even switch from my jammies to my bathing suit. Or at least a pair of shorts! I also love working outside on my porch or in the yard, and with my laptop and wireless Internet, I'm good to go!


Yesterday, I had to go to my mom's house. Normally, my mom comes here because I have a bigger house and usually there's someone else from the family here, so we can all see each other if she comes here. Of course, there are times I go to church with her, or I'll go there and we'll go hot-tubbing! Anyway, I haven't really put much info around her area. I went to about 6 new laundermats and several gas stations, tractor supply company stores, Country Max, anywhere I thought may have a bulletin board. I anticipate some calls today from that effort.

We had to cancel Girl Scouts today. The school is using the room we normally use for a drama club meeting. They couldn't seem to find another room to stick us into. Oh well, I always seem to get a business call while at scouts. Today I'll be there to answer it!


I am going to be approaching a company about the health benefits we offer. I found out last night that the boss had to cancel the insurance, he can no longer afford it. That seems to be happening a lot these days- the middle class is being left behind. That's where we step in. We can give them benefits at a very low cost. If I can pick up that company, that will be about 6-7 new members. And possibly quite a few referrals!


I just love working for myself ! Every morning, I jump out of bed at around 6 a.m.- even without an alarm. This is everyday, weekends, school vacations. I just can't sleep, I want to get going and talk to people!
And, I must go now and wake the kiddo up for school, then get to returning phone calls and growing my business!

Been a rockin'


Geez, I've been so busy! We had Girl Scout Bridging last night. Two of my girls bridged to Cadettes, but they aren't really going anywhere. Next year, our troop is going to be a Junior/ Cadette troop. So, I can keep my girls for a few more years :)


I signed up one fellow for health benefits from the mall event, as well as some people I talked to months ago! Another was from a flyer I put in my Grandmothers town.You just never know where they will come from or when.


I got my rear window of my car done. Mike Bearup at Salt City Signs did it and I think he did a GREAT job! I have had several compliments on it! Mike puts on a big event for Halloween every year at Onondaga Lake ( I believe at Longbranch). They have wagon rides, games and food. We had a great time there when we went last year. He's a great guy and I highly recommend him.
Before I got to Mikes place, I went to about 6 new laundermats and a truck stop to put out flyers. Hopefully, I'll "fill my pipe-line" enough now that I can hang out at home all winter, enjoying the falling snow. I'm an outdoors kinda gal in the summer, and I love to shovel in the winter, but I also love just hunkering down by the old coal stove.

We had our event at our town hall today. it was "Big Truck & Safety Day" and they let me come and hand out my frisbees. I handed out 100 and already have one person signing up and talked to several more people about it. Many people don't have health benefits and can really use a service like ours.


Next week, we are going to our field days to hand out frisbees. I like the fact that I can do my home business the way I like. Some of our brokers work exclusively through the Internet. We have one retired surgeon who has built her business entirely on flyers! I like the doing the footwork now (going to parks, beaches, field days, etc...is footwork?) and increase my Internet stuff in the winter.
Anyway, I'm beat! Ron went to the dump today, which started me on a cleaning frenzy! I decluttered, shampooed rugs, etc...We got alot accomplished, but geez, I was going from about 8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m., then had to leave about 5:30 for Big Truck Day.

The company is in 2 magazines this month!

Our company is featured (front cover as a matter of fact) on Simply Home magazine and mentioned in Parent magazine this month ( 25 ways to save on healthcare). Janie and Michael Jones, who are on the front of the Simply Home magazine are our team leaders. They are absolutely great leaders!

Our event at the mall went ok-of course I thought 100's of people would be flocking around at once, but it wasn't quite that busy! There was a carnival going on in the parking lot. I thought that would draw more people into the mall, but I think it kept them out. Also, my big sign I had ordered was on back order, so we really had nothing that really stood out & told people who we were. I have been talking to a few people from that event about both dental & health benefits and work at home.

As you can see from the pic, I got my frisbees. I put a sticker on some of them that said "Free-take me home." I already have two events locally to hand them out. I'm working on a 3rd right now. I brought some to Girl Scouts and gave one to each girl. I had to bring one of the scouts home. On the way home, I wanted to fling a frisbee out the window into my friend's yard. We passed by an apartment bldg, and I said, "Hold on, let me throw a frisbee here." So I opended the window and chucked the frisbee into the yard. When we got to my friends, I again rolled down the window, and Vooom....I threw the frisbee out the window and landed it right near the stairs leading to the door. I should have been a paper girl! Every place we passed I was goofing around saying" There's a place to throw a frisbee" and would make the voom noise. This Girl Scout was laughing so hard at me, I thought she was going to wet her pants. It was funny. I threw a frisbee out the window near the river where boaters dock, one near a place where a lot of people fish. I even threw one out the window at two girls, yelling to them that it is free! I can have fun with these! I can't wait to go to the park and give some out! If you can't have funwith this biz, there's no sense doing it! Gotta go- have a team call soon!

Niagara Falls




We got back yesterday from a trip with the Girl Scouts to Niagara Falls. We went Friday night and spent the night at Aquarium of Niagara. We slept near the big fish. One of the sea lions started barking at about 4 a.m. and woke me up. I layed there for another hour or so. The sea lion barked a few more times. I got up and there was a little Brownie from another troop standing at the Sea Lion tank. We stood there for about 1/2 hour talking and watching the sea lions swim so gracefully all over the place. After a while 2 other girls woke up and joined us. We then started watching the penguins- I really liked both! Of course, I left some info here and there for my biz.


I have an event coming up at a local mall on Saturday, May 3rd. April 27- May 3rd is Cover The Uninsured Week. An associate and I are going to be there handing out info on the company's health benefits. We have a drawing going on, and things to give away. I have to hustle this week and get things finished! Hopefully, we'll get alot of business from this event. The company has just come out with a new bonus program that pays a bonus for each membership sign up OVER and ABOVE the normal residual pay.


I also have several people interested in the business. When people look into our biz, they see we are onto something that is only going to get bigger! Healthcare is a HOT issue today. We are all aware of the crisis going on. I have members that were laid off & lost their benefits. All they can find is a temporary job, with no health benefits. COBRA can cost a person 100's of dollars a month. They make a dollar or two too much for medicaid or other help. How does someone on Unemployment or working a temp place afford private insurance? They are stuck with out benefits, and their children don't get the routine healthcare they need. They call us, and for $19.99- $59.95 they get help with their bills! We are considered the "Sam's Club of Healthcare." I think that's cool! I like to help other's and I can do that here. I've tried other businesses where I had to beg friends and family to buy shampoo's and such, and I hated it! With this biz, people call us if they need benefits. And it's a service that is really needed.


Well, need to go and feed my goats and work on my duck pond. We are going to get 6 ducklings to join our 4 muscovy's. We thought the females did the boot scoot and boogey, but they're back! Until later!

It's another beautiful day!


Well, we never made it to the zoo the other day. We decided to wait until the next day so my son's girlfriend's mom could come, too. So my daughter and I headed for a park several miles from here. They have 7 miles of shoreline on a lake where you can walk, ride bikes or rollerblade. We rented a bike for me, and rollerblades for my daughter. You rent by the hour, and after about 1/2 hour, my daughter wanted to trade. We wear about the same size shoe- so I said sure, why not. Now, I have rollerblades, but to tell the truth, I had only used them about 3 times. Then, I was diagnosed with Cancer and had to have my kiney and spleen removed. That was the end of rollerblading that year. The next summer, I was still healing and didn't think I could handle it. Now, almost 2 years after being split across my belly, I can actually rollerblade! Of course, I stopped every 10 feet because my thighs and ankles KILLED me! But I was rejoicing in life! It was great! I was also thrilled riding the bike around the park.


I used to ride my bike almost every morning in good weather. I was up to about 5 miles a day-then surgery stopped that! While I was recovering, my son borrowed my bike to get to work. He worked at a farm down the road. Well, it started raining, so he got a ride home, leaving my bike by the side of the barn. In the morning, it was gone! After our excursion the other day, I came home and threw my rollerblades in the car so they are with me whenever I go to the park. I also purchsed a new bike the other day- a pink Schwinn! It has no gears, and no hand brakes, which is exactly what I have been looking for. My last bike was an 18 speed and I used like 2 speeds regularly! I only need something to amble around the countryside on and get some exercise! I have gained about 50 pounds since surgery- I definately have some tools now to help me lose it!


Have no fear, I was still working, even at the park! I left some cards and such around. As a matter of fact, I have an interview with someone who emailed me and said they got my info from a business card- maybe it was from the park. I also put flyers up at a few new places along the way.


We never made it to the zoo the next day, either. The girlfriend's mom ended up working late, and my daughter spent the night at her cousins. So, I sat on the computer 1/2 the day throwing up Internet ads, and the rest of the day I answered calls, then played with my duck pond.


Last summer, when I was working at the library, I vowed to take my daughter to a new beach every Monday. I worked days Tues.- Fri 1-5 p.m., as well Monday & Wednesday nights from 7 p.m.- 9 p.m. So Monday was to be our day. Well, someone at work got sick or something, then my bosses mother was critically ill. I ended up working just about full time all summer. Now that I work from home, we're going to try a lot more this year, and get my flyers everywhere while having fun! I'm almost as excited about school letting out for the summer as my daughter!

2 more days

I only have 2 more days at my job, then I can freely work my home business. Yippee!



This morning it was so nice out- a crisp 40 degrees or so. After I fed the goats, I played with the dogs for about 1/2 an hour. I just love being home in the mornings! Since then, I have had a few return calls to make as well as new ones. I have been alternating calls with pre-Thanksgiving stuff & keeping my daughter company. Because it's Thanksgiving eve, the library isn't open tonight, so I don't have to work. That means I can attend a Wednesday night conference call that I have been wanting to go to. Yee-haw!
