Since I work at home , all of my "meetings" and "training" are done via the Internet and teleconferencing.
We had a team training call tonight and someone metioned something about going the extra mile, and this kind of came to me:
Are you willing to go the extra mile?
At the end of a long, long road there is a place where dreams really do come true. This special place is accessible to anyone- it doesn’t matter if you are a college graduate or a 4th grade drop out. This road has been traveled by many in the past and many more are sure to follow.
Yet most of the “travelers” do not stay on the road long enough. They miss out on the blessings that await them at the end. The reason? They must be willing to go the “extra mile” to get there. Most travelers stop just short of the extra mile, not willing to take the next step.
Others, like me, choose to continue the journey . And they find that the extra mile can be the longest mile ever traveled . Sometimes it’s smooth going, and we happily skip along. But other times the road gets bumpy, and we come out with bruised elbows and knees. We hurt, and want to turn around and go back to our old, comfortable life. Dust yourself off & keep walking, my friend, keep walking.
You never know which way the road will go. It may go uphill one minute, and downhill the next. There may be many twists and turns. Go up, go down, and go with the twists and turns. Just keep going my friend, Just keep going.
There will be times when you are the only “traveler” going the extra mile. You will wonder why no one else wants to go where you are going. Just continue on my friend, just continue on - you WILL meet others on the way who will join you in your journey.
The extra mile is not for the weary. Remember to feed your body and soul along the way. Keep up your inner and outer strength and just keep going, my friend, just keep going. Keep going for the prize.
Don't let anything stop you from grasping your dreams. Be willing to go over, under and around the “roadblocks” that get in the way. Soon you will have arrived at your destination - the place where dreams really do come true.
My dreams, your dreams, and the dreams of those who choose to go with us.
Are you willing to go the extra mile?
If you want to travel with me, go here
P.S. I LOVE comments- then I can check out YOUR blog!

I'm the home business STAR for the day!
One great thing about having a home business is the networking! I love online networking!
I just got off the telephone after talking with Ruthie Appleby of The Ruthie Interviews. Ruthie was offering to do an interview with home business owners on her blog. Me, loving the online experience called her right up. And so, I am now a "Start for the day" on The Ruthie Interviews.
So, if you already haven't clicked on the link, go take a gander. And remember, Ruthie is looking for others to interview. This could be great exposure for your home business !
Later, faithful followers!

Working at home and the disabled
If I understand what I am hearing correctly, many disable persons will not start a home business because a home business has potential for producing a good income. Good income= loss of health care. With the cost of some prescriptions costing $100's or even thousands of dollars (sometimes per dose!) they cannot afford to lose the help they get with these costs. Not to mention doctor's visits, hospital stays, etc.... Even the lure of a free dental plan ( and reduced cost health plans).
Are you in this position? Do you wish you could make an income from home, but can't? I want to understand this and write a continuation of this once I get some concrete facts. If you are disabled and would like to shed some light on this, contact me. You can either give me some info and be kept anonymous, be a guest blogger here, or I can interview you for the piece. You can email me at : home4ever@hotmail.com

Great poem for the work at home crowd!
Don't Quit
When things go wrong as they sometimes will
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill
When the funds are low and debts are high
And you want to smile but you have to sigh
When care is pressing you down a bit...
Rest if you must-but don't you quit.
Life is queer with its twists and turns
As every one of us sometimes learns
And many a failure turns about
When he might have won if he'd stuck it out
Don't give up, though the pace seems slow
You may succeed with another blow.
Often the goal is nearer thanIt seems to a faint and faltering man;
Often the struggler has given upWhen he might have captured the victor's cup
And he learned too late, when the night slipped down
How close he was to the golden crown.
Success is failure turned inside out
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt
And you never can tell how close you are
It may be near when it seems afar
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit
It's when things go wrong
That you mustn't quit.

I think the Lord spoke to me yesterday!
My mom is in town for a week or so. Since I work at home, I have the time freedom to go to lunch & such when I want. We went to lunch last week, then shopped a little. Mom asked me if I wanted to go to church Sunday. I told her I would and I'd see her Sunday.
Saturday night, she called to remind me and see if my daughter & I were still coming to church the next day. I'll admit I told her I wasn't sure. I had changed my bedroom around Saturday, went through & threw out a bunch of junk. Then , my son & I went out & started shoveling goat poop in the boy's goathouse & yard. I was tired and church was the last thing on my mind.
Sunday I woke up, started doing my ads, contemplating whether to go to church or not. I checked in on my friends on twitter. A guy I'm following, Seedspreader had left this message the night b-4:
Poking the fire, checking the doors, getting ready to settle into bed. Have a good night everyone... go to church tomorrow!
So, I went to church!
What was the title of the service?
Lord, you give the Great Commission.
Ok, it may not mean commisssion as in money, but again I felt it was sort of a "sign" of great things to come.
Anyway, we went for coffe and cake downstairs, then went to brunch.
Got home and a friend stopped over for an hour or two.
All together, a good day of fellowship!

Update on Pizza Soup..........
The Pizza Soup wasn't 1/2 bad! I don't think it necessarily tasted like pizza, though. I did add some pepperoni (not listed on ingredients). I couldn't even really taste it.
It pretty much tasted like the zucchini stuff I make in the summer: zucchini, hamburg, sausage, sauce & onions & peppers if desired.
Would I make it again? Yes, but I think I would use medium-hot sausage and more pepperoni. And.... I would be sure I had all the ingredients beforehand!
And that my friends ,is my review of the $32 Pizza Soup!

I play with paper dolls while working at home!
In the pic she is standing in front of the hot new car she bought with the proceeds from her home biz "Widget's for Women".
Ok, so what does paper dolls have to do with health benefits and /or working at home? Actually one of the groups I belong to had the doll pattern you could print. The first 5 dolls get a customized banner ad. My doll was the second submitted. So, I won a customized banner. I told them I want the banner for my website: Come On Home . So, look for my new banner soon!

Is AmeriPlan a scam?
Wow, I just received this. This just proves why I believe a home-based business with AmeriPlan is such a great opportunity. With the falling economy, we can't lose! Check it out!
Ameriplan USA Review
Is Ameriplan USA A Scam?
When looking for a great home based business, I came across the Ameriplan USA. This business seems to offer a good deal of perks for those who are brave enough to take on a home based business. Most of the fly-by-night companies do not offer much of anything except training support. They are nothing more than a pyramid business with no options or benefits.
Below are some of the benefits I have seen that Ameriplan USA offers:
- They have an advantage over the fly-by-night businesses and that is longevity. Ameriplan was created in 1992 and is still going strong.
-They offer a good product that millions of Americans actually need. It is well known that perhaps the best way to make money is to focus on a need that people have. If you can fill that need, you have a good money maker. The statistics of the Census Bureau show the number of uninsured Americans is currently at a record high of nearly 46.6 million. Ameriplan offers people a practical solution that is reasonably priced. Their membership offers a discounted healthcare membership network that can save people money on medical care as well as dental procedures, prescriptions, vision, chiropractic services to name a few.
- Reasonably priced services and products that everyone can benefit from. Memberships to Ameriplan can start at around $11.95 per month for an individual and as low as $19.95 per month for a whole family.
- They offer their “new business partners” a benefit package where most other companies offering home based business opportunities do not. That alone makes them exceptional.
-They offer an excellent Business Opportunity. This is the ideal business plan as it is very easy to do with little work. Ameriplan does not require licensing, office space, inventory or even employees. They offer a solid pay structure, utilizing a multi-level marketing pay structure.
Their representatives do not hound people to try to get them to sell their product. The product seems to sell itself. There have been bad reviews listed from the consumers in the past, but most seem to be from misconceptions. They think they are buying a health plan like those offered from major medical insurance carriers there for, when they do not get the same copay’s, they are disappointed. They are looking for a quick fix and aren’t sure how to utilize the discounted medical plan that Ameriplan has to offer. More people today are turning to plans such as Ameriplan, as most medical facilities accept most all types of insurance plans.

What will you be doing this New Years Eve?
Will you be out with friend's and family, whining about how crappy 2008 was ? That's what 98% of the people will be doing. Making resolutions they know they won't keep. Complaining about the spouse, the boss, the economy. Drinking themselves into believing 2009 will be different. But when they wake up on January 1st, will anything be different?Because I am a recruiter for my company, I get many inquiries from people looking for a home-based business. But some of them never hear back from me ( I'm sure the same hold true for other co.'s) ). If YOU are a 2 percenter, I have a few words of advice to make sure your search is successful and you get that information you are looking for.
2. Please! email addresses like: sexymomma6969XXOO@yahoo.com or womanhater@hotmail.com just make me wonder again- do I want you on my team? You couldn't use a normal/professional email address? And frankly, whether you are sexy or not is not a condition of being my business partner. I would rather have someone with a 3rd grade education and has passion and enthusiasm. And if you are a woman hater....well, I'm a woman! NEXT!
3. When you state on your request for information to call you at 1 p.m. central, BE THERE at 1 p.m. central. There is usually an area on contact forms to write additional comments. If so, specify if you will be unavailable on certain days. I take time out of my day to call you ( as close as I can) to the time you asked me to call. Please be there. Call or email if you are unable to keep that appointment. I may already have an appointment at that time. I will generally send an email or call earlier if I am unable to call when requested.
4. It really irks me when I call someone ( at the time requested!) and they cannot accept calls, or they don't answer AND don't have an answering machine or voicemail. If you are serious, you want to get those calls. I will send an email and maybe try to call once more, but that's it. I'm looking for those that WANT me to call.
5. Another pet peeve- those cell phones that play 10 minutes of music before the party answers or you get the voicemail. Many times I hang up. If I get a chance, I'll try you one more time. My time is valuable. Some days I have a lot of calls to return. If I get 5 or 10 of these things a day, I'd get nothing accomplished.
6. If you requested information by email and you haven't received it, check your spam or bulk folder. If you know the recruiters email, you can add it to your address book so that you can receive emails from that person. I can't tell you how many emails I get back "undelivered" , and the prospect has not left any other contact info.
7. Don't lie. Check out the opportunity presented. If you really aren't interested, say so. Don't lead recruiters on. We are busy people, too. And we have people that DO WANT what we have. They are the people who deserve our time and attention. If you are interested, but the timing isn't right, say so. If you want a call back in a month, just let the recruiter know. If you want to be added to their addressbook and sent occasional emails to keep abreast of the company, say so. If a recruiter is trying to force you into a quick decision and you are uncomfortable, I would say no thanks. If you still believe in the company and the product- find another recruiter.
8. If you have requested info online and received no response with in 48 hrs., try one more time, then I would call another recruiter with that company. This happened to me.
10. If you are excited and ready to start now- do it! I know on my website, you can self-enroll. Most company's have information on the Internet that you can reveiw (and learn) while you wait for a call back from the recruiter.
I generally send out the training info as soon as I get an email notification that a new person has joined my team. That is followed up by a phone call to say welcome and explain a few things about your websites and such.
These are just a few things to consider if you really do want to make that change. If you don't have a "normal" email, go do it now! If your telephone is full of messages and can't receive calls, go delete some. Change your ring tone and while you're at it, make sure you have a nice voicemail message.
And I'll give you a call later! :)
SEE YOU AT THE TOP!
