Start making money at home at home NOW!

Are you raising a young entrepreneur, continued...

Ok, back on my February 26th post, I asked the burning question " Are you raising a young entrepreneur ? " For all those folks who work at home, I can almost guarantee there is a good possibility of it. And it even stretches across generations........check this out!

Yesterday, Little Man stopped over. Dad had some errands to run, so I was the lucky recipient of an adorable little tyke who always keeps us in stitches! For those of you who are new readers, Little Man is our 16 mo. old grandson. He LOVES coming to Grandma & Grandpa's. So much in fact, he called me the other day. My phone rings and I see on the caller ID that it's David, my stepson. I answer and all I here is Little Man screaming and David saying, "Give me the phone." Little Man is shreeeeeching! All he wants is to talk to grandma! I mean geez, doesn't dad know anything?

So back to my story. David drops little man off. My laptop was on the kitchen table - I was using the office chair at the table. Little man runs over to the closet where we keep his toys, grabs his toy laptop and sets it on the table next to mine. He grabs the office chair, hops onto it, and gets to work! The funny thing is, he even remembered to wear his work uniform, Jammies! Check it out!

Not only is Little Man jumping on the bandwagon, but the other day, my 11 yr.old daughter said she can't wait to be 18. I said, "Why, so you can do whatever you want?" Her answer:

"No, so I can start my own business!"

BTW, we are going to the Future Millionaire's class that the Girl Scouts is holding tomorrow. I can't wait to see what I learn!

Anyway, must go and be a good example to the young entrepreneurs & build my business!

Later, friends!

Great poem for the work at home crowd!

Don't Quit
When things go wrong as they sometimes will
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill
When the funds are low and debts are high
And you want to smile but you have to sigh
When care is pressing you down a bit...
Rest if you must-but don't you quit.

Life is queer with its twists and turns
As every one of us sometimes learns
And many a failure turns about
When he might have won if he'd stuck it out
Don't give up, though the pace seems slow
You may succeed with another blow.

Often the goal is nearer thanIt seems to a faint and faltering man;
Often the struggler has given upWhen he might have captured the victor's cup
And he learned too late, when the night slipped down
How close he was to the golden crown.

Success is failure turned inside out
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt
And you never can tell how close you are
It may be near when it seems afar
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit
It's when things go wrong
That you mustn't quit.

Ya can't be the Queen of every haypile, honey!

There are many, many people looking to make an income from home these days. They join this, they join that. They quit this, they quit that. They juggle multiple home businesses and then wonder why none of them are moving forward. In my honest opinion, some of them are cheating themselves out of success.

This thought occured to me the other morning when I was feeding the goats. We have a pygmy goat, Aggie. She has always tries to have it all. When we feed the grain, we put some in the trough of the hay feeder Ron made. We put a little more in a plastic feeding dish. Aggie runs back & forth, back & forth trying to get all the food in both places!

The other day, it was pretty nice out. I decided to throw a hunk of hay out in the yard for the girls. Ron suggested two piles. Didn't Aggie run & lay in the firstpile of hay! When I put the other flake of hay out, she jumped up, went over & layed on that pile! Everytime one of the other (2) girls tried to eat from a pile, Aggie ran over. Sadly for Aggie, she usually ends up with close to nothing! I looked at Aggie and said, "You can't be the Queen of every haypile, Aggie!"

And isn't that how it is with people sometimes, too? How can people expect success when they are juggling 3 home businesses around? How do they even keep prospects, advertising, etc... straight? They can't become a "master" of any of them. Mastery of a profession takes time, dedication and hard work. If they are jumping "haypile to haypile" expecting to get it all, they may be in for a big disappointment. Like Aggie, they may get very little "food" for their business.

Which is way it is important to have a laser sharp focus on one opportunity only. Master it, teach it to others, and watch your business grow ! Anyway, that was my quick thought for the day!

Working from home- where do you spend your day?

Just because you work at home, does that mean you have to be stuffed into a home office 8 or more hours a day with the door closed? Doesn't being your own boss mean running your home business from anywhere?

Sometimes I love just holing up in my office, shutting the door and getting to work. Othertimes, the day to day walk down the hallway can feel like......like going to the office. Like a J-O-B office. Yuk! I gotta have a change. Maybe it's too much aloneness. And then there are times, just because I CAN it's nice to get a change of scenery. That is one thing I love about being my own boss. I don't have to be confined, I can march to my own drummer.

For instance, since moving the old bunkbed out of my office and changing things around, it hasn't been working for me. It doesn't flow the way I like it to. It feels cramped and stuffy, not right. Not to mention, I get bored easily. I JUST KNOW Spring is around the corner. The office is feeling a bit claustrophobic.A sunny spring day will cause me to lust for the great outdoors,to listen to the birds as they sing in the trees and relish in the new flowers popping their little heads out of the dirt.

So last Spring I created an" outdoor office ". It's a great place to hang and play on the Internet - placing ads, answering emails. It is a little noisy with traffic now & then. Although we are somewhat "countrified", we do have a small family owned store a few miles away. Delivery trucks need to take our road to get there. Of course, you have your school buses and garbage trucks as well. So, depending on the time of day, I may or not sit out there and make phone calls.

Last summer I worked at the beach a couple of times. Not only did I make calls to my team to let them know I was working at the beach (you REALLY can work anywhere!), but also did some prospecting calls. I also left a paper trail (cards, flyers in bathrooms, handed to people, etc...).

With a laptop , wireless Internet, cordless phones & cell phones you can conduct business almost anywhere. The last month or so, I find myself working more and more at the kitchen table in the morning. It's bright and sunny, the coffee pot is right behind me, and since I am usually posting ads at that time I can catch up on the news on TV.

I can leave the computer out here all day and do some business, do some housework. A lot of houswork can be done while you're on the phone. Later as nighttime falls and the kids go to bed I find myself more and more bringing the computer to bed with me. I can sit up with pillows behind me and make any necessary calls, tweet my friend's, socialize ,do my blog, or listen to a training call, whatever. When I'm done, I put the computer on the shelf by the bed. In the morning, I get up, grab my best friend (computer) and back to the kitchen it goes.

I know what everyone's thinking, why not change the office back the way it was? Time, my friends, time.

Between working a biz, Girl Scouts, kids, Dr. and dentist visits (me & kids), a grandkid, yadda-yadda. Ok, I'm making excuses I'm sure.

But, hopping around from "office to office" works until THAT DAY arrives - you know THAT DAY.

A day that has just a few more hours, no problems, no appointments......ya know, the 12th of never.

So until then, if you can't find me, check the living room, dining room, kitchen, bedroom, bathroom (not really) the park, the zoo, the doctors.........who know's where I might be found! If you really need to fnd me, call or tweet! Later!

The book I'm reading

When you have a home business and are your own boss, you must constantly think about self development. You are responsible for everything to do with your business, from your attitude to your advertising. You can never learn enough! If you want to be a 6 figure earner, you need to do what the 6 figure earners do.

Stop Whining, Start Living

Right now, I'm reading Stop whining, START LIVING by Sr. Laura Schlessinger. I read for about 1/2 hour last night. One particular thing I read really made me think. Dr. Laura was talking about how many calls she gets from women regarding their husbands or significant others sloppiness and refusal to help out with household chores.

Dr. Laura says perspective is everything. She asks the readers to imagine everything the other person does that irritates them. Then imagine that person no longer in your world. Are the socks on the floor really such a big deal when you look at it that way? My sister used to always say, "Choose your battles!" How true!

This morning, I thought alot about that. Our grandson, "Little Man" came over with his daddy this morning. They had breakfast with us, which Ron (my significant other) was cooking. Now Mr. Ron has his moments of being lazy, and he definately does not always pick up his clothes! He can really irritate me at times! But, then you see something like this..............

......................and how can you not love it?

Grandpa was chasing the dog around & around the kitchen table while making car sounds. Poor Rocky didn't know what to think! Little Man was laughing so hard, he was making me laugh. We both had tears coming out of our eyes. And then I thought, "Ok, maybe he isn't so bad after all!" He DID make breakfast, and he's always good for a laugh!

I think I will make him a batch of our favorite cookies, No Bakes for when he gets home from work tonight. Tell him how much I love and appreciate him.

Is there someone in your life that irritates you? Maybe you should put things in perspective and see if that irritating behavior is really that bad!

And check out Dr. Laura's book

Until later!

Little Man "riding" Rocky!

Work at home site update

Ok, since I started my work at home website Come On Home a week or so ago, I have had 146 unique visitors, and 8 new members on the forums. I am really hoping to help people become their own boss and generate an income from home. With our rocky economy, it is the only security a person has.

In the last few days, I added a guestbook ( don't forget to sign it) , a "Book Nook" where I will feature an ispirational book every month, and several questions on the work at home forum. I am looking to ad home business banners with in a few days. Got a little side tracked with kids appointments last week! Not to mention Girl Scout Cookies (It's that time again!)

I am hoping to add a "Featured Member" section. Each month, I will feature a different member, information on the company they represent, and how owning a home business has enhanced their life.

On to other matters!
